Auction Representation
The experts at Kagin’s Americana attend virtually every major American Numismatics auction. Let us discuss the specific items you desire, examine the items, analyze their value and represent you at the auction, all for just 5% of the price realized. In the case where you as our client desire an auction item that we would normally purchase for our inventory, we will forego bidding on it in the company’s interest and only bid on your behalf, even if the item is selling for less than we would purchase it for our inventory. This is a unique service that we are proud to offer our clients, to diminish mutual competition and put your needs first.
Research Services
Drawing upon decades of experience, the team at Kagin’s Americana provides research services, systematic analysis, and innovative thinking to a wide array of numismatic disciplines. We also specialize in conducting research in the public interest at the request of individual donors and foundations.
Buying and Consignments
We remain active in seeking the most important collections of rarities in all fields, including rare coins, currency and Western Americana. The Kagin’s family of companies offers unparalleled customer service, marketing, exposure and professionalism. You can trust us to do a better job with your material than any other firm. Please remember us when it is time to sell. Consignments are welcome for major pieces or collections.
Sell your coins by consignment – For those sellers not needing immediate liquidation: for a small commission, Kagin’s will advise and consult with you on the value of the items you wish to sell. Together, we will devise a sales plan that will achieve the results you want, within a reasonable period of time. By consigning with us and forgoing traditional consigning to auction houses, you avoid the uncertainty and 15% buyers charge normally assessed by auction houses, as well as costly buy back fees.
Appraisals/Authentication
For a small fee plus postage and insurance, we can evaluate your material. This fee will be waived if we end up purchasing your collection. Additionally, Kagin’s provides institutional appraisals for inventory, insurance and tax purchases on a different fee schedule. Please contact us for further information.
