FR 270 $5 1896 Silver Certificate PMG 65 EPQ

This is the third and final note of the famous Educational Series and rarest of the three denominations. The front design of this note is entitled "Electricity Presenting Light to the World" while the back is adorned with images of two Civil War Generals - Ulysses S. Grant and Philip Sheridan. This is one of the most exceptional examples we have handled in the last several decades. What makes this note so extraordinary is the near perfect centering within boardwalk like margins. I do not recall seeing a nicer uncirculated example with original margins. This note is also dignified with impeccable print detail, sensational color, clarity and the highly desirable Friedberg #270 – the RAREST FRIEDBERG NUMBER for $5 Educationals. With all the different types of paper money available to collect, this example is the prototype of all things great in numismatics today.
