1933 Silver Certificates are some of the rarest and most desirable silver certificates extant. Otherwise known as the “King of the Silver Certificates” finding a wholesome example that has not been excessively trimmed or have poor margins or is overly processed can be a challenge. Rare primarily due to the redemption clause which stated “Payable in Silver Coin to Bearer on Demand” the Treasury Department quickly changed the wording to remove the word “Coin” from the clause for the Series of 1934. According to the current census, there are only 63 examples known which not only makes this note rare but also a relative bargain as well. Adding this note to your collection will add value and prestige.
