$13,290.00
Technicolor notes can be considered the only commemorative note ever produced by the United States Government. President Theodore Roosevelt instructed the Treasury Department to issue a limited edition $20 Gold Certificate to be released in conjunction with the 1907 $20 gold coin designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Not to be out done by the US Mint, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing produced this beautiful note and limited its production for only one year. The following Series of 1906 note removed most of the golden accents found throughout and the red seal and serial numbers. The BEP also replaced the ornate $20 design on the left with a simpler Roman numeral "XX". With such a limited amount of Technicolor Notes known, finding a nicer lightly used example with bright color and the "Exceptional Paper Quality" moniker from PMG will be very difficult to do. And a little research will support that last statement. A quick review of the PMG POP report will reveal that PMG has graded 18 examples VF 30 but only 3 received the coveted EPQ modifier making this example vastly superior to most of its counterparts.
